WEPDO is a non-political, non-profit organization Established in 2015 to respond current needs of the Afghan people in order to sustain, strengthen, and promote human rights culture, peace building, and good governance initiatives and tackle the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and form the other side to provide and facilitate work opportunities for the people particularly women in the Afghan context.

WEPDO is managed by independent non-partisan indigenous professionals who have been experiencing practically & technically in various fields of capacity building of humanitarian sectors and community development projects as they have had special training (TOTs) in the sectors of humanitarian interventions, Human rights, child protection, and capacity building programs.

As indigenous professionals in humanitarian sectors and capacity buildings, they felt that there was an urgent need for interventions and they could access the grassroots and act as a bridge between the suffering and desperate local communities, the UN agencies, national and international organizations, well-wishers and charities that are willing to help the Afghan people especially women in the country. This was the philosophy behind the establishment of WEPDO.
