Background:

WEPDO is a non-political, non-profit organization Established in 2015 to respond current need for the Afghan people in order to sustain, strengthen, and promote human rights culture, peacebuilding, and good governance initiatives and tackle the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and form the other side to provide and facilitate work opportunities for the people particularly women in the Afghan context.

WEPDO is managed by independent non-partisan indigenous professionals whom have been experiencing practically & technically on various fields of capacity buildings of humanitarian sectors and community development projects as they have had special trainings (TOTs) to the sectors of humanitarian interventions, Human rights, child protection and capacity building programs.

As indigenous professionals on humanitarian sectors and capacity buildings, they felt that there is an urgent need to interventions and they had the ability to access the grass roots and act as a bridge between the suffering and desperate local communities, the UN agencies, national and international organizations, well-wishers and charities that are willing to help the Afghan people specially women in the country. This was the philosophy behind the establishment of WEPDO.

Situation Analysis:

During the past 40 years Afghanistan became a battlefield country, all basic   political, social, economic and cultural structures destroyed and human rights especially women and children’s rights became disabled.

By the way, after 2001 and the Bonn conference, where new democratic Afghanistan with its new constitution born, Afghanistan Independent Human Rights commission established and much more agencies started their working for promotion, development and mending of Afghanistan; step by step Afghan citizens who are living in cities had started a new experience. But all of these actions are limited to large cities and center of provinces. We and our team in WEPDO decided to spread opportunities and increase life experience nor for people who are living in cities but even in villages
